So I've changed my residency to Florida this past April, and my voting. I have a house in Florida, none in Delaware. I now don't pay taxes on my pension I'm assuming from April on, and that's when I started receiving it. I have wages in Delaware thru September, then we headed to Florida where I am now. I'm not working here since I'm still getting severance. Don't have my car tagged here either since I don't need it here. Using boyfriend's car.

Anyone know if I will have a problem filing taxes just as a nonresident?

CJA329,

Every tax circumstance is unique. My best advice to you would be to ask your accountant. If you don't have an accountant, the IRS will give you answers to your questions. Visit Contact My Local Office to find the office nearest you.

I once had a question about a particularly unique problem about which even my accountant was unsure. I was able to sit down with a person face-to-face at my local IRS office to get some guidance. The person never asked for my social security number and did not record any of my information. I found the session quite helpful.

Good luck.

Charley
