Delaware Department of Transportation - Live Camera Video

Warm weather is here, and by this weekend Rt. 13, SR 1, and Coastal Highway to the beaches will be jammed. Maybe this link will paint a picture of how crowded the roads gradually become in Delaware.

That's for sure! .... From Lil' Heaven south on Coastal Highway.....
Last Friday evening it was crowded already. Some NY'er ran me off the road near Meddings, N. of Milford. I wouldn't have traveled that road on a Friday, but there was no way around my work assignment. Don't know what their problem is with me going 60mph in a 55 mi. zone. He was going at least 75mph.

I remember as a child living in surburban Phila and crossing the Chester Ferry to go to the Jersey shore. When coming up behind a car with Jersey tags the adults would always complain about the slow driving Jersey farmers.

It was a nightmare on route one in Lewes/Rehoboth once Good Friday arrived. I made the mistake of traveling to Lewes on Saturday--traffic was awful. It's official; I have sworn off the Lewes/Rehoboth area from Fri-Sun from now until October!!

rdlr--Like you, I experienced enough rude and aggressive drivers these past two weeks. I go on vacation to relax and chill--apparently some come here with the bug still stuck in their rear ends.

I know what you mean. I think my quick trips to the beach, work or not, are done until October. I'm returning to my 'back road' route for work down in that area, and forget going down there for any kind of fun! Amazing, all the out-of-state cars down there.

The cars aren't bad. It's the drivers with their city attitudes that get me. But then where we locals pulling into traffic might see a spot not quite big enough and wait the city folk might see this hugh opportunity. Probably hadn't seen a spot that big in months.

Fast paced city attitudes drive me nuts! But then, I've never lived anywhere but Delaware and never lived in a city (or anything close to it). I've always been pretty laid back. So maybe it's just me...

And I laughed so hard when I read what you typed below, longnecker....so true!
