have them price out Goodman instead of the name brands. They mostly use the same parts and Goodman has a great warranty, too. Goodman doesn't advertise so you can save over a grand.

We replaced our HVAC last summer through Costco and they used Sobieski. We had priced several installers, but we received the best price and warranty through this program. DM me if you would like info. Costco also awarded us $1200 in Costco dollars--not sure if that was just a special or if it is their regular reimbursement.

I'm in Newark... heard Sobieski is very expensive and read that Goodman is NOT a reliable brand. Most who I've spoken with have used Bryant or Lennox.

I don't have a Costco membership.. but if they have a special and a Costco Dollar is equivalent to a real dollar it may be worth looking into.

I have known many people who have gone with Goodman and haven't heard of any regrets. It mostly depends on who installs it. I will always go with Goodman but do what you want.

Retired custom builder here. I had one customer that insisted on Goodman for a new home pump installation. It was nothing but headaches, a real mess. With the possible exception of some of Sears crap, I never saw a residential install that was so sickly dependent on a seemingly endless service calls to keep running. I have had HVAC subs confirm the same. My current guys use Rheem, has done so for the last 45 years, and claims that, given their continual service and repairs to just about every brand ever made, they see no reason to switch, since they don't see anything better out there.
