We just booked our vacation, a 2 BR condo on the canal in Lewes Beach. Can anyone tell me some good places to eat and what (besides fishing) there is to do? How far would it be to drive to Ocean City or Rehobeth? Thanks!!

When will you be staying? There are many great restaurants in downtown Lewes. We enjoy the Rose and Crown, The Buttery and a few others. If you enjoy biking, you can ride the path between Lewes and Rehoboth. Otherwise, driving to Rehoboth or OC, will vary depending on the season.

Do you know how to do a Forum Search? If you do that, you will find tons of recommendations here in regarding to places to eat and things to do in Lewes and Rehoboth - not spelled Rehobeth. Different restaurants cater to families vs. couples (all adults) and activities are geared to one or the other, also. So I don't know what your situation is.

It takes about half an hour or a little more to get to Ocean City from Dewey Beach, when I go. That is never during the tourist months when traffic is unbearable.

Good Luck.

There is SO MUCH to do in the Lewes/Rehoboth?Dewey area there is really no need to go to OC during a short vacation. If you like BBQ do not miss Betheny Blues . It is off Rt1 north bound just past the movie theaters. When in or traveling through the small towns pay attention to the speed limits and feed the meters.

There are two restaurants down on the harbor. Just next to the condos there is an Irish pub, I believe called Irish Eyes. I haven't been, but perhaps there is a website to browse. Also just the other side is seafood restaurant called The Wharf. You will not want for food, that is for sure. Enjoy your stay.

Agave on 2nd Street - the Lewes' "Main Street" has wonderful interior of Mexico style Mexican food and great, individually made Margaritas. It fills up quickly, so for lunch you need to be outside the front door a good five or ten minutes before noon, which is when they open.

Kindle (I think that's the correct spelling, but it could be Kindel) is just off 2nd Street and visible from it as you are walking around. More of a steak place -- very good. There are any number of places in the old downtown area that are worth going for a meal and these are easy to see as you walk around.
