Good evening! I am looking to relocate from San Diego to Rehoboth Beach and am visiting at the end of the month. I am finding it a bit challenging to find full time permanent jobs in the area on the job boards... My personal background is 5 years in the corporate office of a nationwide travel company, marketing, administrative, graphic design, video production, open to sales. Bachelor's degree in mass media, very flexible with the type of work itself and willing to learn.

I'm am trying my best to get some interviews lined up prior to my visit. Do any of you know any job resources for the area or know someone who is hiring? Any info. on this is greatly appreciated, as I am so ready to begin my new life in Rohoboth Beach with a new and rewarding career

Thanks in advance!

Hate to sound discouraging but good year around jobs with benefits are hard to find around here. There are several poultry processing plants in eastern Sussex County which have more or less permanent help wanted signs. Check on line for employment opportunities with MediaCom and/or Comcast. Most jobs around here are seasonal tourist/retail.
Local help wanted ads would be at News - CapeGazette.com - Covering Delaware's Cape Region - Inland Bays, Atlantic Ocean, Rehoboth Beach, Lewes, Milton, Dewey Beach, USA or The Guide

Agree with longnecker....the job market in Sussex County is pretty sad. I have a science background, but I teach instead because science jobs are few and far between around here and very low paying. My husband also works for the state in law enforcement. I'm trying to find a decent-paying, part-time summer job that doesn't involve working with the public/tourists, but so far my search has been rather dismal.

Most jobs are retail or restaurant related around here or else they are in the medical field. I would advise you to look at state jobs--these pay well and are more secure. Sadly, most are in northern DE (as most of the decent jobs are). Here are a couple links:

It would be a long commute, but you might consider Federal jobs at Dover AFB. Their hiring process takes much longer than commercial employers, and it helps if you have military experience.

Otherwise, you might try placing job wanted ads. Include the alternative press sources like this: http://www.camprehoboth.com/about-us...both-staff.htm .

These suggestions are not helping you....you have a mass media degree, a background that would appeal to companies that are marketing and sales driven. Who cares about teaching and and science careers... that is not your background and not relevant to you. It is very difficult for marketing minded companies to find talent in this area so you need to focus on those companies.

Try a local news station like WBOC or a news paper like the Cape Gazette, or an innovative company like Dogfish head, Trinity Logistics, SoDel concepts, an event planning company or a company like Schell Brothers that has excellent marketing and they even produce their own videos. Sales reps in B2B and Pharmaceutical and companies like Ryan homes make over 100k a year here just like everywhere else in the US so you could go that route as well.

There is also a new TV news station in Lewes that is hiring.
