Driving down 404/9 Lewes Georgetown Hwy the other day headed towards the beaches, I saw an Insight Homes new housing development named Hawthorne. It is just outside of Harbeson on the north side of 404/9 and it looks like it is going to be a massive community.
How are our county officials approving more construction on the busiest road that carries people east and west?
404/9 Lewes Georgetown Hwy is already way too busy!
I tried to look up the community in the county records and there is no community in the system named "Hawthorne" yet. Is this something we can stop before these developers completely stop traffic on 404/9 all together?
There are thousands of acres of land that can be developed in the county. Why in the world are we allowing another greedy developer to put a community right smack dab on one of our busiest routes?
Who approved this and who can we subsequently vote out of office?
Who can stop this?
Does anyone else care that 404/9 Lewes Georgetown Hwy is already too busy to have another few hundred houses sitting right on 404/9 in Harbeson?

Unfortunately most developers consider undeveloped land as a waste of good land. Up here I donate to several land trusts that purchase land, mainly farmland, to preserve it. One group is in Western Mass. and I was pleased on a day trip a few years back to see that the group posted a sign on some of the land they purchased.

To get out those approving all this over development with no increase in infrastructure move to Western Sessex and vote out your Councilman.

Who is dumb enough to approve a development right on 404/9? Have these people driven these roads before?
