I think that is a very cute house with alot of potential.

I have a good friend in Newark in a house just like that. She loves it there. Maybe some other kinder posters can help you know where to search.
Arizona: I don't think anyone mentioned "bad area". That's a matter of opinion.

Thanks. I also think that house is not bad. I can put some efforts to make it better, and the price is really attractive. And there are several similar listings in New Castle.
The main concern are schools. For some reason they have pretty low score in New Castle. Probably that's why New Castle is a lot cheaper compared to Newark. Right now I don't care about schools, but might need them in future. I don't know, maybe I also should look in Landenberg/New London PA area. Same area geographically, but schools have much higher score.

My husband and I are in a similar situation and are currently looking for a house. We are not familiar with Delaware areas (we are moving to Delaware from New Jersey) but have found a few websites to be helpful when looking at schools and crime.
Greatschools.com rates schools from 1-10 based on test scores as well shows reviews.
Homedisclosure.com has helped us a lot. This gives you information about crime in the area and schools.

Delaware Crime Map
The website above will also give you a good idea of crime in certain areas.

Hope that helps! Good luck!
