Not good news, but it appears that the gravy train is over, or there's a good possibility it will be, soon.
Delaware's in debt, big time! This is the news of the day, here in Delaware, and if these changes take place (along with a laundry list of other changes) the caravan of new people moving to Delaware because we're a "cheap" state, will surely be affected.

It will be interesting to see how our incoming Governor handles this. Obviously some changes must be made.

rdlr - Thanks for sharing.

Significant changes to say the least.

Sorry to read cutting out of Open Space purchases. New Jersey spends a lot of money on Open Space and it shows in my neck of the woods. Money well spent. I am getting tired of more strip malls, house farms and parking lots. The over building of Delaware worries me.

Everyone I know who has moved from NJ to save money has moved to Florida (well one friend to north eastern Tennessee) . Ft. Myers, Sarasota and St. Augustine are the favorites. Truth be told they are all very happy.

As someone who moved to the Delaware Beach area two years ago, I wholeheartedly recommend everyone else go straight to Florida (or Carolina, or Georgia, or anywhere else but here)!

Just honk and wave as you drive through; we'll smile and wave back.

LOL
When I joined City Data in 2007, that was the premise in one of my first thoughtful posts! In fact, I went a little overboard, got an infraction for that, and it still shows in my profile "Forever" it says! That SURE taught me a lesson! Maybe the Pres will pardon me.
