I'm looking on the map and see an area that might be doable for me to have a boat and drive to a launch ....What kind of traffic can I expect traveling from Harbeson to the boat launch near Lewes ? ....I would be traveling east on RT9 over to the coast to the ramp ....This is during the summer months ...Thanks ...Jim

I'd imagine it's heavy enough, especially during the summer. Not as bad as route 26 or 24 headed east--but heavy enough. My ex-husband lives on route nine and I've heard him complain about traffic.

The good news is you don't have to drive on one, just across it to get into Lewes if it's the boat ramp(s) I'm thinking of.

Take rt 9E through Five Points like you are going to Lewes but turn left at Old Orchard rd. Take a right on New rd and turn left onto Park rd. That will bring you right out near the ramp. This route avoids the downtown traffic and tight turns in Lewes.
If you need bait, stay on New rd and stop at the bait shop in the old icehouse. After that, take a left on Pilottown rd to reach the ramp.

Hi Beachliz ,

Thanks for the reply ....The homes I'm looking at are in the area of intersection Rt 5 and Rt 9 ...The ramp I'm looking at is on Pilottown Rd ....It appears to be a nice boat ramp, unless you know of a ramp closer , or easier for me to get to , this is the one I was thinking of ....Not knowing the area , this ramp looked pretty nice ....Again, I'm flying by the seat of my pants here .....Thanks again ...Jim

From Rt 5 & RT p why not come over Rt5 into Long Neck Rd and straight down to Massey's Landing. A lot less traffic hassles.

Longneckone,
Thanks for the reply ....This route brings me to an area where I did not want to fish, not to mention that is one long ride pulling a boat to a launch.....It's something to considered should I decide to fish that area ....Thanks much for the info ....Jim

That comes down to a matter of personal preference. RT % to Long Neck Rd is a straight shot with little trafic and few few traffic lights. Massey's Landing puts you in quite near the inlet and direct access to Ocean Fishing. Knowing all the congestion going your way this looks like the easy way and quickest on heavy rraffic days. Just my opinion.
