Does anyone know of any lakes that offer jetskiing near Milton/Lewes? My daughter is coming, and she is scared of sharks since they've been in the media so much lately. Plus, last time we went in a bay, the waves were rough, and she nearly fell off..not the best experience.

Others may be aware of more rental facilities than I am, but the only places I'm aware of are along the Chesapeake Bay - in Fenwick Island and Ocean City. Most of the time, the Bay isn't too rough unless it's windy or there's some type of storm system that has the water more stirred up than usual. No clue if sharks are in the Bay, but I don't recall having heard of them.

We love jetskiing, especially hubby and I, but much prefer doing it in the lakes. We have done it in 3 different bays. 1 was calm, and 2 were really choppy!

There was actually a small shark within 10 feet of the shore line that swam from Rehoboth - Dewey. There was a picture in the paper. I was on the beach and they guards were doing a rolling "get out of the water command" from stand to stand. The guard did say privately to me, we are after all in "their space."

All of the "lakes" in Delaware are man-made mill ponds. They are not deep enough to safely avoid submerged tree stumps and other things that could ruin your day while jet-skiing.
