Today's numbers over/under

Once again the numbers were posted late and with an explanation. No, today's Sussex number is not incorrect, per the statement.
*The Division of Public Health identified a technical issue in its contact tracing system software that caused duplicate records to be included in the cumulative number of positive cases displayed Sept. 15 - Sept. 17. The duplicate records have been excluded, which is reflected in today’s update. As a result, the increase to the overall total number of positive cases is less than the number of new cases reported yesterday.

I was going to start another thread, but since we've speculated about available locations where Agave could move on this thread, as well as other closures, I thought I'd just post it here ....

Jakes Seafood on Coastal Highway is closing tomorrow ..

https://www.capegazette.com/article/...C%20Sept.%2020.

I'm sorry to see a restaurant close, particularly a family owned business.

The handwriting on the wall has been there for quite a while. The Hilton hotel chain was supposed to build on that site, maybe 2-3 years ago, but the county council did not approve a height variance. We heard the hotel chain walked on it because of that.

Which also brings another thought to mind. Is Agave going in there? The tea leaves might be point this way. Agave said they would not comment on the Coastal Highway location til late September, is this going out now and that late September date a co-inkydink?

I wasn't aware of the background with the Hilton hotel, so it sounds like the owners were going to move on, one way or another and this probably isn't a result (at least solely) of Covid.

Coinky-Dink? I think not! I did wonder if this could be the future location of Agave for the same reason. It's a great location - very visible, easy access and good parking. I guess we'll have to stay tuned for late breaking news!! Hey, watching to see who goes in there will give us something to do!

I have started to write down the total death numbers as of 3 days ago, and according to my records we were at 621 for the past 3 days. Well today, we are at 627 and when I look at the deeper data it has been at that number since the 16th according to the chart. I seriously don't think they have a clue.

Clearly, I have been drinking. Perhaps I should be. The total yesterday was 17 not 177. That one is on me - not on the DPH.

We went into downtown Rehoboth today for the first time in a long while. Where were a fair number of people walking around and eating outside at restaurants, but I wouldn't call it crowded. We went into three different stores and were the only people inside. I am happy to say that aside from two people who were legitimately eating/drinking, everyone else was wearing a mask, which is a VAST improvement from our last attempt to returning to walking on Rehoboth Avenue and the boardwalk.

We chose a Wednesday, thinking it would be the least busy day of the week and were a little surprised by the # of people, but it wasn't what I'd call crowded. There were small lines at Kohr's and Thrasher's, but the people had tried to socially distance. Overall, it was a good walk.
