See that's the difference between here and NY. In NY we have the prisoners who they are letting go due to coronavirus, producing hand sanitizer and here in my adopted state a great business and company doing the same.

Italy has beaches. 793 people died in the past 24 hours.

https://news.delaware.gov/2020/03/21...-of-emergency/

Now. Close the liquor stores. Close the parks like the one that is across from me where I saw the ice cream truck rolling through and dozens of families just having a good time.

YMMV. Seriously. Not out of fear or panic, but out of respect.

I am utterly amazed at the STUPIDITY, yes I said, STUPIDITY of people. The reason the beaches and boardwalk were shut down were because of all of the idiots that were on the beach yesterday sitting in close proximity to each other. For their own good the Governor felt the need to close them because they were not abide by the guidelines.

Thanks to all of you that made that choice, we can't walk the boardwalk respecting the advisory 6 ft apart distance. We can't walk the beach and we can't walk the dog.

This was done for YOUR safety and you decided to ignore the directives. Thanks.

If I sound mad, I am and it took every ounce of restraint to not type this in all caps.

I totally agree with you nuts2uiam. We walk up Rehoboth Avenue and the Boardwalk - and on the beach - on a daily basis - and have been dismayed and appalled by what we saw yesterday. We had hoped people would have enough sense to position themselves at a distance on the beach - it's a big beach, people - but they did not. I will say we passed quite a few older people like my husband and I who kept at a safe distance - one of us would move to create some space as we passed, as we nodded or called to one another to acknowledge the strange times we live in.

So Governor Carney was forced to essentially save us from ourselves - or at least those who chose to ignore the requests and regulations, as did Governor Hogan in Maryland. It didn't have to be this way - but idiots who have no social responsibility forced their hands to try to avoid a catastrophe as they're seeing in Italy, for example.

I'm angry too, nuts - we moved here because we love the proximity to the beach and we're really going to miss being able to go there for the duration - especially now that it's Spring.

To better days ahead - hope everyone is safe and well and stays that way!!

Ya' can't fix Stupid!
"Church" next door to us....Business As Usual....
About 25 cars there, about 50 people inside, and about 20 little kids marched outside to play. Then we have to endure the banging on drums and hollering coming through their walls/siding.
I guess those people think nothing applies to them. These stupid people put us all at risk. They'll probably stop at the grocery store on the way home to share their germs, and Corona stats will be going up. Thanks, "holy ones" ! (Meanwhile, we're sheltering in place).

Governor Carney is starting another press conference right now. I wonder if this is going to be the shelter-in-place order?

EDIT: 56 cases (known) as of today. 6 in critical condition.
