Thanks, Nuts. I know it gets confusing. The Delaware State News also publishes corona updates every day (+ and -) in those categories. The state changed their way of calculating a week or so ago, which added to confusion.

I am adding the hospitalizations number to this now. The uptick in Sussex is not unexpected the Governor said they were anticipating spikes as the testing continued. That is why the Hospitalization number is so important. We have to see that number declining.

I saw a woman in RB Walmart the other day, waiting in line, with mask down and chatting on her cell phone. Stores should put up warning about cell phone use while in store.

I have only gone where necessary and I avoid Walmart, but from what I have heard they seem to be doing a good job. I would call the store manager and tell him/her and they will relay it to the officer that I hear is stationed at the outside entrance.

Things were looking good, but this is certainly a set back. Hopefully just a one day glitch.

It is very hard to understand and I don't envy Gov. Carney or any Gov, that has to make these decisions. You are damned if you do and damned if you don't. They are doing so much testing that it is impossible to not have increasing numbers. That said, for me, I wish the numbers detailed how many of the new cases were asymptomatic vs. really sick. In a way the hospitalizations are an indicator, but maybe a positive from a few weeks ago that was asymptomatic has now been admitted to the hospital.

The opening of the shops is good, but that said, how can a store do business that way? Maybe, the book store can, where you say, I want to buy a copy of such and such book, and it can be delivered to the curb, but a small shop that carries say clothing does not stand a chance. I really do understand the need to get moving especially locally, but I wish we could have been a bit more patient.

Most of us in this community have no intention of shopping that way and we can already walk around in town if we wish.

I appreciate the way Gov Carney is managing this. I really feel he is seeking the best outcome for the people of Delaware rather than putting political interests first. I think if the businesses can find a way to maintain social distancing that gives them a fighting chance at economic survival, we owe it them to have that chance. I think the only way a store could operate like that, would be to have a good website to highlight what’s on offer.

I am grateful to be at a point in where I don’t need a lot of new things, and that my livelihood is not at risk. I really feel empathy for how much people are struggling right now.

I suppose it doesn't really matter, but I'd be curious to know how many of the new cases are coming from the increased testing of nursing home residents and staff, as well as the poultry industry.

I agree that I don't envy Governors or government in making these decisions. There is a lot of pressure and so many people stand to suffer loss of one type or another. I was surprised to see any loosening of the restrictions and I think they really tried to allow as much as they could. We can only hope the shops can be creative and find ways to operate, even with the limitations.

Has anyone seen the definition or criteria for small retail? I'm curious if it's square footage, monthly or annual sales figures, etc.? Would the outlet stores be considered small retail given the relatively small size of many of the stores - or would being part of a chain disqualify them?
