thanks for the recipe eastcoastblunder, it sounds pretty much like mine. I just read a recipe that does not call for mayonaise, it calls for 1/4 butter in the egg mixture. Think I'll try it soon.

Delly, did you say your Mom adds whipping cream to hers?

Yes. Once I left it out by mistake, but I couldn't tell the difference. I keep including it anyway, though. 1 tablespoon heavy whipping cream in with the mayo, and whip it up.....but then you're stuck with 1/2 pint of whipping cream, which I end up using in my coffee! Actually, unless I doctor coffee up quite a bit, I don't drink the stuff.

Default crabbin in Md & De.

We have our lines and pots ready to go as soon as the weather gets a little better.

Is the Leipsic Bridge on Rt. 9? We took a ride out there a month ago and looked around and saw a lot of old pileings in the water.
Hi CaroleM This is my first on this site. Read your message about crabbin. We have just retired from La. I'm from Balto., but have lived there for 35 yrs. We crabbed alot in south La. we love it. The hurricanes really upset the crabbin there. Crabbin places for the public were closed for two yrs. It openend for a yr. then the latest hurricane came through the same place. We can't wait until the season opens in Md. Our daughter has a condo in O.C., we'll try Assateague St. Park. We hope to buy a house on the Eastern Shore and are in the process of gathering info. about the small towns. Thanks for accepting me as a friend. Brenda 8

We go out to the Leipsic bridge, when we have time to relax, which is not often. We can usually trap or catch a dozen crabs in an hour or so. Chicken necks is our bait of choice (the more rotten the better). Some in our family prefer to just throw a line over the bridge, but we do the crab pots, too. I've heard you never want to crab up there at Delaware City.....fat, fat crabs, but is that because of Salem, New Jersey's you-know-what? You upstaters may know about that. I have a huge canning pot, boil up some water, add a generous portion of Old Bay, and drop the lively crabs in for 8-10 minutes. My first time, I forgot to put the lid on.........disatrous

Im trying to find the leipsic brdige you are talking about..been an hour driving but cant find it ..can you give me the exact direction for this pls..thanks

went to the leipsic bridge for crabbing, but it was on a pretty fast road. Just moved to Delaware and would like to know of any crabbing spots in which I could take my children to without the heavy traffic? Anybody know of any? Very excited to try this new tradition!
