How is the crime problem in zip code 19805?
Many of the cute and not too pricey homes I find are in this zip code, and they look so nice that I am wondering how bad this area is (since I heard it was bad)? Can someone enlighten me or, better yet, lead me to a good area to find a crime report as I am having a hard time finding a good one I can read. Help, please!

Tootsie, Delly recently posted this link on another thread.

delawareonline ¦ The News Journal, Wilmington, Del.

I saw it sometime ago on the News Journal web site. For some reason, some of the zip codes seem to be missing. I know there were there when I first saw the link awhile back.

Hope it helps!

Hi, and still here. Delaware is a really great State for me, and now I am trying to think of arguments not to move there...haha! Coming up short, tho. I really like this State.

Well, then, I guess I'll have to overwhelm you with all of our amenities here in Delaware. Where should I start? If you want, PM me and I get you what you need for Round 1

Yep, Tootsie. There's a whole thread on 55+ communities, you'll have to check out on this Delaware Forum. In there is quite a bit of banter regarding leased land vs. fee simple land. I believe Southern Meadows is the least expensive 55+ community around here, and they are manufactured homes (doublewides) on rented land. But take a look over at that thread, and if you need anything else, let me know.

19805 is listed as Elsmere by some sources, which always kinda pissed me off because I was from 19805 and I lived in Wilmington, which was bigger, but........

19805 in Wilmington is comprised of good and bad neighborhoods. The bad neighborhoods are mostly east of Lincoln Street, although there are some good neighborhoods around St. Elizabeths and around Maple and Sycamore streets.

West of Lincoln, the only bad neighborhood is between Lancaster Ave and 4th going all the way up to Wilmington high (this area is commonly called Greenhill.)

19805 includes really nice areas like Wawaset, decent areas like Union Park Gardens, and lots of developments bordering Faulkland road and elsmere.

After thinking a while, 19805 is really difficult to discern, it's such a mixed bag of decent inner-ring suburbs of Wilmington, and the crap parts of Wilmington and Elsmere as well (Elsmere can get really trashy.)
