How are you getting to Philly and have you made arrangements to get to Newark?

There are a few ways to do this.

1 There are shuttles that go from Newark, DE to JFK in Queens. Delaware Express - We are more than just Shuttles - FAQ

I would never take the shuttle though, as it would be really expensive. I've flown out of JFK and LaGuardia in the past.

2 This is the cheapest way to do it, from Newark, De to JFK.

Septa R2 from Newark or Wilmington to Market East stop. ($6-7) 50 mins
Walk to 12th and Arch. Take Chinatown Bus to Manhattan ($12) 2 hours)
Walk to Broadway-Nassau subway station (MTA), get on MTA A Train ($2) to Howard Beach. (30 mins)
Take AirTrain to your JFK terminal (??$3?)(10 mins)

It takes a while, but it works.

Actually, I gave you the reverse directions. Sorry.

Instead:

Go to your JFK Terminal and take the Airtrain to Howard Beach stop. AirTrain JFK > Home

Take A Train to Broadway-Nassau stop.. MTA Home Page

Walk to 88 E. Broadway (Forsythe Street.) Remember, this is not BROADWAY. This is East Broadway, a totally different street. MapQuest Maps - Driving Directions - Map

Take Chinatown Bus to Philadelphia. Search here for Chinatown Bus Cheap Bus Tickets information to Boston New York DC Philadelphia express service

Walk one block to Market East station.

Take Septa R2 to Newark station. SEPTA

Take cab from Newark Station to UD.

2b. You have an additional option for the Chinatown Bus.

It is only 2 times a day, but you can take the Chinatown bus from Manhattan to Wilmington *it is listed as MD. This is a mistake. AA Bus Double Happiness Chinatown Bus New York Baltimore Wilmington Virginia Beach

From there you can either take DART bus route 6 to Newark (DART First State - Home Page) or catch a cab to Newark ($30)

3. This is probably the easiest option. It is still pretty cheap.

Take Airtrain to Howard Beach.

Take "A" Train all the way to 42nd Street Manhattan Port Authority (Bus Station.)

Take Greyhound Bus to Newark, DELAWARE (maybe $30-50?) Greyhound Home

Catch cab to UD.

If you have any questions, let me know.
