I do have 2 Maps that ive found showing the route & what is will happen by 2030. I will try to find more Info about it. The Northeast Corridor Upgrade and Wilmington Station overhaul are at the top of the priority list. A quick correction is the train would go to Newark,DE and form a JCT. MARC would extend up to Newark and form a Transit / Rail JCT type center. & Then this line would interconnect into that. What does this mean ? Newark,DE will have very bright future ahead in terms of new jobs and new lifestyles. You'll be like your bigger cousin about 200 miles up the line.

I thought I'd bring this oldie but goodie back so that anyone who wants to "just chat in general" can have a place to do so. ( ... and I hope no one has any thoughts about complaining that an old thread has been restored!)

Default Anybody Remember This Plane Crash at DAFB?

I was just cleaning out some old papers I saved, and came across an article about the C 5 crash at Dover Air Force Base in 2006. That really could have been bad, and luckily the plane landed with the crew having only bumps and bruises. I remember hearing all the sirens and emergency crews going towards the Base that day, and lots of panic stricken people. The C 5 was coming in for a landing and missed the runway, as I understand. That was after turning back from their scheduled trip to Kuwait and after encountering problems. We went to see the plane a couple of days later, which was sitting in a farm field near the intersection of Rt. 9 and Bay Road. As I remember, it took a long time to dismantle that plane.

I was probably in Md that day because I don't remember the crash. As close as I am to DAFB I would certainly have remembered it. Fotunately no fatalities. Very good link rdlr.

Those planes are huge!! I believe 250ft long or something, I remember it because of the minor injuries and what a miracle it was not to have any deaths.
