Hi friends! I am getting married next fall, and thankfully, have a caterer. Now I need a venue that ALLOWS for outside caterers. Do you know of any hidden gems?

Here are the details:
  • 100 people seated
  • Inside
  • Outside caterer
  • near hotels/lodging (within 20 minute drive)
  • Not insanely expensive
City-Data is my go to for all the answers in Virginia - don't let me down Delaware!

Yes, Waterfall in Claymont, Delaware. Indoor-outdoor accomodations.
Outdoor is canopy covered, surrounded by some pretty landscaping for privacy.
Theres a Hilton right off the I95 exit at Nammans Rd. or quests
could travel I95 to route#7 exit, Christiana, another Hilton and other hotels in the vicinity.
You'd have to call and inquire about pricing.
Good Luck!

Check out the Chesapeake Inn in Chesapeake City, MD - not too far from South Newark (Newark has a bunch of hotels) and is right on the water with indoor and outdoor areas

I don't know the catering situation, but a I attended a wedding at the Indian River Life Saving Station @ Delaware Seashore State Park. I don't remember the food, but it was the best location for a wedding I've seen in years.

novaxb,

What part of DE are you looking for? I see references to northern, and southern DE. We are in central Kent County, pretty much midstate. Let us know more what part of the state you are focusing on, and I'll ponder the question more.

Mary

These are great suggestions! Thanks!

I am looking more central and lower. The furthest north I am looking is the Smyrna Opera House. It's just such a hard time of year, most venues are outdoors, or under tents. Not sure I want to risk that.
