I am a 53yr old female. I have gone along to a teaching hospital for some implants on a site (lower jaw) that is now missing 3 teeth (one removed aged 11). It has been agreed that the site is suitable for 2 implants, however, following an X-ray of the last remaining adjacent tooth, the dentist now wishes to remove this too as it has some decay, and it would offer more room to create a bridge over 3 implants.
My feeling is I do not wish to do this, I wish to have the 2 implants done first, and if that is successfull then remove the adjacent tooth. This would be more cautious, more affordable and at least would leave me with a tooth to chew on.
