For those who don't want to make their own, here is a brand I may buy to compare the one I make.

I have used this method for years after originally doing the "oil pull" for my teeth.
I also use Hydrogen Peroxide mouth wash once or twice a week, followed by a water rinse.
An added benefit besides no more ridiculously high dental bills, is white teeth.
I was starting to loose respect for the Dental profession and I was ridiculed for not wanting Fluoride. I visited 3 different dentists in a 3 month period and got 3 different diagnosis,"estimates" and lectures. It was like visiting used car salesmen lol.
I did my research and found what worked for me.

Anyone who wants to look into oil pulling, just a tip that somebody was kind to pass onto me when I started: Spit out in wastebasket because coconut oil solidifies when not warm enough, could clog pipes. Rinse mouth with very warm water.

I actually bought this CO toothpaste so that I can make a comparison from the one I make up and this one. I like both types I use.

Wouldn't the homemade CO toothpaste do the same thing? Especially in winter.

Baking soda, when mixed with my regular toothpaste, starts irritating my gums after a few days. Maybe it's because the concentration is too high? I put the TP on my brush and then dip it in a little container of BS, just getting the top of my TP "dusted" with the BS.

So there is a 12 day hard fast rule on this? I know what I experienced, so don't miss the CO toothpaste cleanings.

On the baking soda, I mix a small amt in my CO.

It's what my dental hygienist told me and I found the same thing online. You can get plaque relatively quickly but it doesn't harden to tartar until almost 2 weeks later

Well, I made some CO toothpaste and it works about the same as commercial toothpaste (I use DG brand Sensitive kind). It feels oily, of course, and I spit into the trash can, but there is still bound to be some left in my mouth and on the toothbrush and that concerns me for my pipes.

Here is something I found when I googled about the antibacterial properties of CO:

https://www.futurederm.com/coconut-o...antibacterial/

I'm not against using CO for a toothpaste, I just want to skip the hype and get the facts. Like Joe Friday. "Just the facts, ma'am."
