My wisdom teeth were impacted so I got them removed. If not I could have with braces moved the wisdom to fill in the space but unfortunately they are gone. I recommend anyone to get an implant at the same time the tooth is removed to avoid other teeth shifting and spacing and other problems.

thegarden is a fake account. You're an oral surgeon posing as a patient. It's painfully obvious. You make enough money putting in implants, stop trying to get more money.

You are a fake account. You are an oral surgeon. You have a post history of 1 post. You made a new account to post this. You started your post with bad grammar and misspelling but towards the end of the post you got lazy and went back to proper spelling and grammar. Also an average person would not know about all these options, such as the braces on the wisdom teeth, etc. I call BS.

Stop trying to convince people to get implants. I understand that extracting teeth doesn't make you much money but it's often the best option. I had a tooth extracted, no implants, no bridges, just a gap and I'm perfectly fine.

Then what would you do after that...talk about a raggedy mouth then...lol. Will my dentist refund me?

Pub Med article done by the French:

Rev Med Brux 2010 Jan-Feb;31(1):44-9

Allergies to Dental Metals. Titanium: a New Allergen

You're 100% correct. You have a nickel allergy (allergic contact dermatitis to be exact) which is why you can't have the cheap earrings. Many people do have allergies/contact dermatitis to various metals including titanium and other metals used in surgeries and dentistry. and yes, orthopedic surgeons do run into this problem with patients who develop an allergy and the knee replacement/hip replacement has to be removed.

If you want to get tested to see if you have allergies to these metals before having the procedure done, you can see either an allergist or dermatologist. They will do a Patch test to see if you have allergic contact dermatitis to the metal.

Sometimes, it does come down to money but for me, it was also the fact that it would be multiple visits, missing time from work and all for a tooth that they were iffy that it could even be saved so I could go through all that and pay $$$ and still end up with a pulled tooth. I fast forwarded to the end.
Yes I just pulled the tooth too. So much easier.

It's a little weird for a person with a new account with four posts to call a new poster with one post a fake

Is your hygiene the same as this other person? Were your margins supragingival while others are subgingival? Is your crown anatomy and contours the same as everyone else? Was the damaged tooth structure in the same location of a tooth or even the same tooth? Is your bite the same or is one of you a class 2 while the other is class 1? Is one of you a night grinder and the other is not? Were the crowns made of the same material?

I can understand that if a person has poor oral hygiene they might need crowns replaced but why would a dentist keep replacing crowns on such a patient without getting them on a regular cleaning schedule and monitoring their oral hygiene? And this seems to happen to this individual over and over, so yes I think they should get a second opinion.

I know you're the expert and I'm just a dumb patient but there is no way I would keep going back to the same dentist to have the same crown replaced every 3-5 years that's nuts. It may be the patient's fault but it isn't always. Most dentists are honest and ethical but there are some out there whose specialty seems to be doing work that isn't necessary.

I’m not an expert and you’re not dumb. I’m just saying there are many factors involved. Some involve the dentist and some involve the patient. The reason for early failures needs to be determined or new crowns with a new dentist will likely suffer the same fate.
