One time I had seven cavities that needed to be filled after I had avoided the Dentist for a long time. He suggested it would be possible to have all of them filled on the same day and that many of his patients just bite the bullet and commit the afternoon to the Dentist and get everything done in one day. But he said it was my choice.
I decided instead to have the seven fillings done over four appointments. Shorter appointments but four days of having to go there, wait in the lobby and get my teeth frozen with Novocain. (Then have my mouth frozen for three hours afterwards)
What would you do if you had seven cavities that need to be filled? Would you have them filled in one appointment, two, three or four? (The cost would be the same and the Dentist did not care.)
I'd get it all done in a single day. I've never needed seven cavities filled though. I have three fillings in my mouth; all molars, and all done when I was in my early teens.
It depends on where they are. Some people, and some dentists, don't want to do too much at one time when numbing is involved. Working on one side at a time seems popular. You also have to consider how much time is required in the chair. You can only "open wide" for so long.
I had 2 crowns done at the same time once, adjoining teeth. That was probably the most time I've spent in the chair, over 2 hours with a few breaks in between.
Get it all done in one day, seven cavities is no big deal.
My worst "one day" experience was when I had to have my fixed bridge put in, I had to go to my regular dentist to have the temporary crowns removed, then I drove ten miles to an oral surgeon to have an extraction done, then I drove ten miles back to my dentist to have a five crown fixed bridge put in.
Getting seven fillings would have been like club med in comparison.
I would have done it in two appointments assuming some where on the left some where on the right. No way I would go back 4 separate times for cavities. Cavities don't even take that long.
One time I had two upper left and one lower right caviTies filled at the same time. My mom got me some ginger ale with a straw after and I couldn't suck on the straw and ginger ale went all over. It was funny.
It depends on how big your fillings are. But, generally dentists refer to divide your mouth in 4 quadrants like lower right & left, upper right & left and they do all the fillings in each quadrant in one appointment. If you don’t want to complete these fillings in one appointment, you have to pay by filling, not by appointment. So, more appointments shouldn't cost any more.
is it advicable to fill teeth let me say three on either sides precisely molars
