Hi guys, I have Medicaid and have scaling and root planing done these days. So I know the scaling was not covered but then the dentist said Medicaid would pay a little bit and for each time I pay $58, but the bill I received is confusing me:
PERIODONTAL SCALING AND ROOT PLANING
(Standard Fee $225.00)
(Adjust $167.00)
(Fee $58)
So 58x4 = $232 (???)
Do you guys know what does the "Adjust" means generally and am I paying more than I have to?
Thx!!!!

225-167=58. The 167 is the discounted portion.
This is usually for each of the 4 quadrants in the mouth, so 58x4=232. You are getting a HUGE discount by paying $232 instead of $900 (225 x 4).
