My professor informed me today that oral surgeons do indeed hire RNs and I am interested in working for one for at least a couple years . Do any nurses who have worked for an oral surgeon tell me what the job consists of on a daily and how the pay compares to that of an RN in a hospital setting?
I am an oral surgeon in a large practice with 4 doctors and about 25 employees. We have minimal need for nurses and mainly use dental assistants. We had an LVN once who left. We interviewed a few more nurses but decided it was not worth the effort to train them on the dental world when dental assistants are already trained.
