I went back to my density to found out that i need to get a root canal after i got that done the same tooth still hurt how do i know if they did the right tooth or not. Some people i ask that had got one done.Said the tooth should not hurt after you get the root canal done. is this normal.

Ok so you went to your Dentist and they placed a temporary crown on a tooth that was hurting you. Then you went back and the Dentist told you you need to get a root canal on the tooth with a temporary crown?

If I am understanding this correctly, the decay was very close to the nerve inside the tooth. The only way to know if this will cause pain is to wait and see. In this situation, a prudent dentist will place a temporary crown to see if the tooth is painful. If there is pain, a root canal is usually needed to remove the nerve and possibly further decay that has gotten into the nerve prior to placing a final "permanent" crown. I may be misunderstanding this, but it sounds like he is doing the right thing.
