NYC has about 6 million dentists and you want to know which one to use???

Well, tell ya what, sport, let me offer a few tips...

1. Never use an old dentist (over 55) as their skills start to erode and they're looking to retirement. I see a lot of work diminishing there.

2. Don't take a new dentist only 2 or 3 years out of college. They lack experience and think they can do it all and that causes problems.

3. Avoid the dental companies that have multiple offices. They tend to be mills and really push mediocre dentists to work to fast and take shortcuts for the sake of profits.

4. A good general dentist should own their own practice, practice solo (or at least know you see the same dentist every time), be 30-50 (enough experience but not too much such that new dental techniques have passed them by) and have a large vibrant practice with a friendly staff.

Go to one that waives your co-pays. They are the most trustworthy.

Or the most desperate for patients.

And why would they be so desperate??

I picked my dentist because she has a picture of Kermit the Frog on the ceiling, and so whenever she has me tilt my head back to work on my teeth, I get to see Kermie, my hero.

That's the old Kermie by the way. Not this imposter who has picked a lesser, submissive wimp of a girlfriend, but the real frog who could match wits with the robust and "real gal" Miss Piggy.

Best way to pick a dentist - find the one that has your hero on their ceiling.
