I have my first dental appointment in 10 years tomorrow
. I've always thought I had decent oral hygeine, but a few months ago half of my back molar broke off when I was chewing. It looks like a bad cavity back there too (obviously). There is no pain, except maybe if I am drinking a cold beverage. Even then it's not pain but feels "funny".
Anyways I made the dental appt for this reason. I want the tooth pulled. It's cheaper and it looks dead and broken to me. I don't want it to be filled up with anything or a root canal. Is the dentist going to have any qualms about just pulling it?
Anyways, I hate going to the dentist and am freaked out. I guess I wanted to see if there would be any problem pulling the back molar and being done with it? I have read root canal vs. extraction stuff on google but get conflicting results, including that root canals can cause health problems down the road.
Thanks for any replies.
