Hello: I'm retiring in about a week and finally have time for "mouth work". I'm going to get a full set of dentures and I'm hoping someone out there can recommend a source. Obviously I'm not a billionaire so cost is a consideration. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

As a dental risk manager, it always concerns me when people want to go on the cheap for some things.

Let's start with teeth extraction. A general dentist can do this. But they generally aren't good at aveoplasty (if needed, and probably will be) and take a lot more time and may leave more root tips behind (some always are, but an oral surgeon will do a better job). So I suggest shopping around to several oral surgeons and see who can give you the best deal.

As to the dentures, you can have your general dentist do this, or a prosthodontist (spendy, but they are the experts). You may also want to choose a denturist, but do so carefully. Find one who works with dentists and get their recommendation.
