Hello all. So I haven't seen a dentist in nearly 25 years! I'm searching around for dental insurance that will cover possible surgery for tooth extractions. I really don't know what's going on with my wisdom teeth. One day pain started to radiate all around my right jaw area. Some days the pain is severe. I'm pretty sure it's my wisdom teeth and am looking for worst case scenario, which is surgery perhaps. So, can anyone recommend a dental insurance plan or any aspect of dental insurance that would cover this? Thanks.
For expensive treatment, most insurance companies require a waiting period before you are eligible to use those benefits. Otherwise, people would go pay $100 for a single monthly premium, get their treatment, then stop paying. The insurance company cannot collect $100, then pay out $2000, and expect to stay in business.
My son is having his removed tomorrow. His dental insurance isn't paying a penny. I hoped medical would cover at least the sedation, nope. He has Delta Dental.

What the hell you talking about? I finally got my raise at work and I'm now looking for dental insurance. I'm not looking to defraud the poor insurance companies. Jesus. Go take your holier than thou BS elsewhere.

What you can try is signing up for Aetna Vital Savings. Coverage is immediate after completing the application online. We pay $125/yr for 4 people. But, it isn't insurance, it's a discount plan. My dentist does cleanings at 40% off with enrollment. I save about 30% on dental work. Because it's an Aetna program, I didn't have any trouble finding dentists to accept it.
Eh, your opinion means little to nothing to me. Go donate your life savings and future earnings to them since you feel so bad about them having to provide the coverage we pay for.

Hmmm, ok, I'll try that. From what I can see, most dental insurance doesn't cover for anything besides routine checkups.
