Hi,

I want to two different orthodontics. One told me to get four teeth removed. The wisdom will go as well (later). He said it could be done both ways. There is less space and teeth need to removed. It would affect gum thinning later if i didn't remove it. There is medium amount of crowding. This orthodontic will remove all four 2nd premolars, since one of them need root canal. Another orthodontic told me not to remove any teeth. If I do so my face will go back and gum thinning has nothing to do with braces. To go this route I will have to get root canal done etc. I don't want to choose. Some other doctor told both ways can be done. Please advise. Thanks.

Will the teeth with root canal look discolor or different. It is the second premolar (5th teeth) on right?

If you need a root canal you most likely will need a crown put on the tooth. Personally I wouldn't have any teeth removed unless it's absolutely necessary. From what I understand the extraction of premolars used to be routine (they pulled my first premolars when I was a kid and had braces) but it doesn't seem to be as popular now. Maybe you could get a third opinion?

Here's your second premolars

yes, they are pulling second premolars because one of them need root canal. (option 1). This can result in negative lip suction as well.

You've done your homework, it sounds like you realize there might be consequences of having the premolars extracted. The root canal won't hurt and then the tooth would be prepared for the crown, they cut the tooth down so the crown will fit over it, that isn't painful either because they numb the tooth. Your dentist will color match the crown to your other teeth and no one will ever know that it has a crown. Most dentists make ceramic crowns right in their office and you leave the same day with a permanent crown

yea, they also said it is exact same results since they will back teeth to front, may be taking out wisdom. The lip suction is little more in teeth taken out then not taken out! Also how long does the crown lasts?

I have crowns that have been in my mouth for 30 + years and they are fine, some people need crowns replaced sooner so there is no guarantee that yours will last as long as mine have
