Has anyone used a Groupon deal for invisalign? For example, I am looking at one where I pay $32 for $2000 worth of treatment. I don't think that its a bad deal, but seems too good to be true, honestly. I mean, what is the "catch"? Invisalign is invisalign, isn't it? Pop the tray in your mouth and switch it out every month until the treatment is complete.

Orthodontics is one of those things where there are high fixed costs and low variable costs. In other words, it costs a lot to keep the office open but not a lot to add on one more patient. Also, providers have to have a certain number of Invisalign cases a year to continue providing it.

If you see a Groupon deal, ask the orthodontist to match it. They only get half of what you pay Groupon anyways, and every small business I've ever asked has agreed to match the Groupon deal.

I did Invisalign about 3 years ago. Total costs to me, including retainers at the end, was about $4500. So even if I had a $2000 coupon I would still be handing over $2500 in cash.

Good to know, thanks. I went through the whole works with braces and such when I was a teen, but my bonded retainer broke and I now have a small space between my teeth I would like to get fixed. The groupon would just about cover it.

I would run far and fast from this.

For me, I don't trust people who have such impossible deals.

Was the groupon legit? Or was it a scam? Was the consultation what cost the $32?
