I have to agree, I use no electronics in my mouth but make up my own toothpaste with coconut oil, baking soda and drops of clove oil. I have talked about the TP here.
The Philips Sonicare electric toothbrush removes surface stains and plaque really well. It's a major improvement over a regular toothbrush in terms of clean, brighter looking teeth and gum health. I use it with the DiamondClean replacement brush heads. For extra whitening, I sprinkle some baking soda on top of my toothpaste now and then.
I like the Philips Sonicare, too but for white teeth, I use Crest Pro Health, and with or without an electric tooth brush, I think it's a good product.
Disclaimer: I have no financial interest in either company!
The natural color of your teeth cannot be changed. You can only remove stains (if you have them) to make them appear "whiter." That said, no toothbrush does that, you need products, baking soda can help. I personally don't understand people obsessed these days with unnaturally white teeth. Unless they are extremely discolored or rotten, they are usually off-white or even slightly yellow, which is normal.

I was thinking the same thing, the consumer world push so much on the public. The longer we live the more our teeth will show age...be happy to have teeth and keep them as good as we can.
And if one is gulping down coffee thru the day, all the more stained their teeth will be.

Ok, I got the Sonicare Diamondclean. I just started using it and brushing with a electric toothpaste can get real messy. Toothpaste just flying around and dripping. After each brush I leave it on the recharge cup, is that wise? Will overcharging it mess up the battery?
