I am one of those lucky people who seems to constantly get cavities, despite brushing and flossing and at my last visit my dentist suggested I use 0.5 percent Hydrogen peroxide gel inside trays, for 15 minutes twice a day, to prevent further cavities. I just started doing this and am wondering if anyone else has tried this approach and did it help... I hope so!

I don't know about the H202 gel but I do rinse with H202 liquid before bed every night.

I'm much older and had my share of cavities and all the work that went with this issue.

Now I really really work to eat far less carbs (turns to sugar) and sweets in general to keep cavities from my mouth. I was born and raised on pasta, breads, cookies, all types of sweets and have a mouthful of dental work to prove it. For bread, I use romaine lettuce leaves to make a sandwich, I have NOT brought breads into my house in probably 10 yrs....

Today, it's a lot of greens, meats and fats and love coconut oil toothpaste to keep things healthier too.

I am glad you found some solutions for your dental problems. They are expensive to fix and would be great to find a way to prevent them. I do love carbs! I know, not good... but whole grains and legumes etc. all seem to agree with my health, except for my teeth (no while flour products). I am hoping this new add on to my dental routine will help

Now if that great fluoride works to prevent cavities and if you live in a fluoridated water community you should be good, right? Eliminating and reducing carbs to save teeth makes too much sense to me. There is so much we know today.

I've heard of rinsing with peroxide to help prevent gingivitis, but not gel or for cavity prevention. I hope it helps you. The people I've known who had the whitest teeth brushed with baking soda and rinsed with peroxide. I never thought to ask about cavities.

Cavities are due to overdosing on sweets and food turning to sweets...even milk which has sugar in it. Keeping an awareness of what we put in our mouths can only help us.

Hydrogen peroxide gel is used to whiten teeth. White teeth still get cavities. Brushing with a fluoride toothpaste, and flossing correctly helps prevent cavities.

yes, I said that F word, and I'm not taking it back

And as I've said I was born and raised in "F" water and live with a mouthful of dental work..so who wins...the "F" pushers win and run with their mega profits.
