Periodontist Alexandre Aalam offers the procedure, called rejuvagum lift, to his patients. He uses a small amount of the patient’s own blood to create what’s called a “platelet rich fibrin.” Aalam said this fibrin is a gummy bear-like texture of white cells.
He inserts the fibrin into the infected gum area and in just days, the fibrin helps rejuvenate the existing gum tissue. “The procedure takes itself an hour, but you get results within a week,” Aalam said.
Rejuvagum is essentially a dental version of the PRP procedure that has been done for some time to heal other soft tissue injuries, like torn muscles, inflamed tendons, ligaments, and even spinal disks.
FYI - this procedure is used to treat gum recession caused by overbrushing, not recession due to periodontitis.
Oh you gave me a tad of a laugh Dr Toofache. The grease is Coconut Oil toothpaste and the eat grape seeds is an antioxidant grape seed extract. And yes I'm 80 and my gums are tight and healthy and I've told my story here but many make fun...whatever. Enjoy your dental visits and costs and all that. We can do so much to heal those gums. I believe. I was told I was there back in the 80's and never did a thing but the grease and grape seeds WORK and so inexpensive and no pain. Good Luck.
Dunning-Kruger effect...
