The only thing going to a dentist will guarantee is more trips needed to a dentist. If you really suspect an infection you can drop into a quick care and they will prescribe you antibiotics for much less than a dentist visit.
And will that cure it so it never comes back? I don't think so.

This is Raleigh-Durham. There must be several dental schools. They all have free clinics.

The dental school clinics in the Boston area are far from free. Reduced price is more like it, about 50% off.

There are only 66 dental schools in the entire country. And you suspect Raleigh-Durham has multiple?? How many medical schools do you expect them to have?

Not to derail this thread, but how are you able to access the internet or eat sweets if a $20 expense is too much for you?

UNC School of Dentistry has a well known and respected low cost clinic. The dental students are supervised, of course.

Check out their website for contact info. Chapel Hill is close to Raleigh via I-40 and is easily reached by bus.

I assumed both Duke and UNC had dental schools. Nope. Duke only has a medical school. I have a cousin who went to the UNC dental school. My sister got her hematology PhD at the Duke med school so I probably should have known that.
