I had a root canal 8 months ago. I was still having some pain so I went back to the endo specialist. He did a CT scan and found one of the tooth's roots was bent and then split into very thin pieces. He wants to cut my gum and work directly on the roots, drilling off the tiny ones and sealing them. I understand this might be to prevent infection hiding in them. I had never heard of such a procedure before. Has anyone had this done? How did it work out? How long did recovery take?
