I want to hear what you think about titanium. Have you heard of it, do you know what is used for and how it is used in prophy pastes.

Titanium itself is an elemental metal. Titanium dioxide isn't chemically the same as titanium. It's a whitening pigment. Artists will recognize the common paint color "titanium white". It doesn't remove other colors or stains like a bleach, it refracts light very well so things look whiter. Like just about everything else some agencies now list it as a possible human carcinogen if inhaled.
