So in my journey to get my teeth fixed, I was told I had a number of cavities (ranging from one really big one that is scheduled for a root canal next month, to some small ones I never knew were there). My upper right premolars and first molar had cavities so my dentist filled those first with amalgam. This was about four weeks ago, and since then, one of them squeaked a lot, especially after chewing on the fillings (mind you, I waited 24 hours after they were installed before eating solid foods). I just assumed this was normal and that the sensitivity was normal since I did just have three teeth drilled on. Well, the dull aches and sensitivity worsened after two weeks. Or rather it became more noticeable. I had my dentist file the fillings down after I bit down on that blue paper. He took a few minutes to do the filing.

So how long does it take for the inflammation to go away? I still feel the same "pain" as before, and I haven't even been chewing on those fillings either. I read it could take a few days or a week. Anyone have any experience with this? Dentists perhaps? I feel weird having to "bother" my dentist about this again, especially after not reporting it to him until a few weeks post-procedure.

It's funny how my teeth never hurt till I went to the dentist. I miss those days.

Hi, any updates on your case? How long does the pain went off after the adjustment?
