Yes 7k went to the lab for expensive type of X-rays and to make you 2 sets of teeth (temporary and permanent). 14 to the oral surgeon and 12 to the dentist. You spend a lot of time there getting adjusted and they make the mold for your 2 sets of teeth.

What is the appeal of implants? - they are horrendously expensive and pretty risky in terms of success rate.

I had two placed in the lower left back, I didn't know that a 3 tooth bridge there had failed. My dentist told me my options were implants or a removable bridge (appliance? don't know if it's called a bridge) and I've heard that bridges on the bottom were not easy to adapt to. My implants were successful and this is coming from a former heavy many year smoker. I had quit about 3 years prior to getting the implants, but I figured that still could cause me issues.

I floss around those suckers daily! lol

For a full arch of teeth, the only other option is a denture.
For a single tooth, the other option is to shave down neighboring teeth to pegs for a bridge. It's a shame to irreversible change those teeth just to replace another.
