I got my filling done at a new dentist place. After the procedure, I'm scare to open my mouth, to eat, to talk, to yawn because I'm scare my jaw will get lock. It happened 6 times now and I'm scare I need to treat it with surgery. When it stuck, it last for a good 2-3 min trying to figure out the painless way to close my mouth normally. I never have this problem before with other dentist except this new one. I'm not sure if I was opening mouth too wide or if it's him who's not doing the procedure right.

I read online about it but my symptom doesn't have pain or swelling. What should I do?

Have you tried putting a heat pad on either side of your jaw to relax the muscles? I doubt very much the procedure to fill cavities has anything to do with being unable to open your mouth. Maybe you overextended your jaw muscles holding your mouth open as the dentist worked and now they are sore. Getting so anxious about this is probably making the problem worse. Take a pain reliever, go to bed so you stop worrying about it. If it isn't better tomorrow morning call the dentist!
