Peroxyl is pricey. Will hydrogen peroxide and water mixed together do the same thing?

I don't know but I hope someone else does. What I do know is that Peroxyl's flavor is so strong it about debrides my tongue. I never can slosh as long as I should because it feels as though I'll have third degree burns if I do!

1. Walgreens sells a store-brand peroxl for less than Colgate brand

2. Peroxl is 1.4% Peroxide, regular Peroxide is 3%. So mix 50/50 with water and its the same. Not sure on taste.

Thanks! I wouldn't mind adding a tiny bit of flavoring - just not the industrial-strength flavor that Peroxyl has. It's funny . . . hydrogen peroxide (diluted or not) as a wound cleanser has fallen out of favor in the veterinary world, where it used to be a staple. Yet here we are, using a dilute version in our mouths. Hmmm . . . makes me wonder. I've found Peroxyl has helped with healing my minor mouth injuries like cheek bites so I wonder where the truth lies.

Continue to use it and tell yourself there's more important things to worry about!

So true! It's just that flavor, ack. But I've survived it so far - and it's not like I use it every day - so I'll keep on keeping on, for now. After I use up this bottle, I might get creative and try to make my own.
