So i never heard of this until i saw on amazon they had this type of toothpaste. Anyone used it can give their experience? There are like tons of brands as well.
1. Does it whiten teeth? If so, how long does it take?
2. You suppose to only use it once every other day? I read you are not suppose to use it daily. So you use your regular toothpaste and use this every other day?
3. Is there any harm in using it? I heard conflicting opinions on this.
4. You suppose to use a regular toothbrush and not electric toothbrush right?
5. Anyone can recommend me the exact charcoal toothpaste they use? There are like 20 plus brands it seems when you look at toothpaste vs powder. Which is better?
It only removes extrinsic stains like coffee/tea/wine stains, doesn't remove intrinsic stains.
If the charcoal particles are too big, they may be too abrasive on the enamel, and if the charcoal particles are very small, they may lodge into tiny crevices in the enamel and actually cause staining in the crevices, and possibly in certain kinds of dental work.
Charcoal toothpastes are apparently more abrasive than regular toothpastes, but no one can really tell you exactly how abrasive they are, so use at your own risk. Maybe you can find the relative dentin abrasivity value of the particular charcoal toothpaste you're looking at but, as far as I know, charcoal toothpastes haven't been tested for abrasivity. I haven't checked lately, though.
And, if it doesn't contain fluoride, it won't help protect against cavities, but CD doesn't like to talk about that.
Like all other whitening paste it contains polishing/sanding materials. It's abrasive, cause micro scratches.
Those toothpastes are so abrasive that they actually scrub away the gums and white enamel of your teeth. Damaged enamel is getting stained with food very easily.
Charcoal may erode the outer layer of enamel on teeth, exposing interior tissue and increasing the risk of tooth decay.
Tried but it does not give you that miraculous whitening that they show on the advertisement. The hype is much. The charcoal toothpaste is waste of money you can buy any whitening toothpaste. save extra bucks on this .
Nothing can whiten your teeth if they have formed their own color. Personally, my two canines are yellowish than other teeth and when I asked my dentist to correct it, he said "It's the nature of your teeth and you cannot change it"
