Is draing a dental cyst considered a surgical procedure or can a general dentist do this?

See your dentist, and if he or she cannot handle the situation they will refer you to someone who can.

What type of cyst? There are over a dozen types that occur in the mouth. "Draining" it will release the fluid build up but not keep it from filling up again. The lining that creates the fluid has to be removed.

Its a cyst that has formed at the root of a retained milk tooth. Dentist said to leave it unless it becomes symptomatic. Unfortunetly i dont know what those symptoms are and if leaving it is good advice... everything i read online says the need to go.
