I threatened my dentist that I would report them to the Dental Board for poor work which cause me further problems and I had to see a Oral Surgeon to correct.
I had paid out of pocket for the work. I sent a letter to their office saying if they didn't refund my money I would file a complaint.
They contacted me by phone saying they would refund my money....they did.
Probably a good idea to check the state Statute of Limitations on filing malpractice claims in your state of residence. In Michigan, for example, it's a 2 year window. After that, forget filing a claim.
