Yesterday I had some dental work done. A tooth with a old filling was cleaned out and an overlay was put on. But today I noticed a large black mark on my tongue.
It really isn't even coming off with cleaning.
It is next to another tooth that has a massive filling -- iron etc.. it seem like that one is leaking or something.
Could that one be leaking or did the debris from the other tooth get stuck in there and that is what is staining the tongue.
Just a WAG, but amalgam fillings contain silver alloy. Silver and some of its alloys can stain skin black temporarily. Maybe some of the old silver amalgam material ended up touching your tongue as it was being removed. Ask the dentist.
