I did a CT scan of the tooth I extracted
because isuspect I have an infection inside the jaw
Can one of the doctors here look at the test and say what he thinks?

No one here should be diagnosing you based on a couple of images. Tonsils are part of your lymphatic/immune system. They react to invaders including bacteria and viruses, but its possible reactive swelling and inflammation created by the extraction procedure extended to the closer tonsil. The reality is that your mouth is constantly exposed to bacteria. An open wound (cutting or suturing the gum) is vulnerable to infection. Did they give you an antibiotic after the extraction? Talk to the doc who extracted the tooth.
