I tend to rinse my mouth twice a day with a cap foul. I had no idea I would be sensitive to this mouthwash. I have about 3 big bottles of Listerine. Do I have to discard these now? Or will I be able to endure the mouthwash if I just use it once in a while?

You may be using too much of it or it might be the alcohol content. There is also a Listerine Sensitivity version that doesn't contain alcohol. Usually not a great idea to buy so much of a new product you've never tried before. Buying in bulk to save a dollar or two doesn't always pay off. Buy the smallest quantity first. If the bottle seals and caps are still intact maybe you can return the unopened ones. Hope you kept the receipt! If not, chalk it up as a shopping lesson learned.

I tried one full bottle of it before and I had no problem with it. So that's when I decided to buy a bunch. I guess my teeth developed a sensitivity to it. I don't see my dentist until December. I think it could be alcohol that's causing the problem. Sucks because the Cool Mint flavor has a refreshing taste.

It's a combination of the alcohol and thymol.

Use it diluted 50% with water, just half a cap of each, and you should be fine.

The blue stuff is more irritating than the green, in my experience. I think the blue is the cool mint

Yeah, I've found Listerine to be too abrasive in recent years. Maybe it's because I'm older now. I don't know. I now use TheraBreath for that reason. It's more expensive, but well worth it. I think the price has also come down a bit from years ago.

Consider returning the 2 unopened bottles or gift them to someone.

Buy alcohol-free Listerine TOTAL CARE ZERO®.
Or dilute it with water as suggested by the above poster.

I loved the Listerine Gum Therapy....they stopped making it. I now use Listerine Ultra Clean. It comes zero alcohol.
