Had a tooth pulled which was traumatizing enough but freaked out on the bone grafting part. My dentist did not mention that so I was caught off guard and it totally weirded me out.
Oral surgeon said that I was at the maybe mark where soft tissue might grow back. He would "like" to do the bone graft or I could wait to see how it heals. It was up to me. I opted to wait. Was concerned about foreign object (cadaver) not taking as I have weird stuff wrong with me and never adjust to things well. How likely is it that this will heal on its own. Does bone grow back on its own? If not, he really did not explain what would happen after the "wait" period. Do they go back in and try to put the bone graft in?
Grafting technique provide you a framework in which rebuilding process occur. Bone grafting material comes from two sources first one is Autograft bone and second one is Allograft bone. With these techniques your sell will remodel the matirial in your functional bone.
bone doesnt grow back unless its stimulated. you can bone graft all you want, but if you dont put an implant, it, too, will resorb away. but its not a process that happens overnight. so youve got some time to think
