I needed impant, post and crown done by a dentist , went for consultation, and send a pre-certified letter to the insurance. after the letter was approved, the dentist told me the OUT OF POCKET maximum amount won't be more than $600. After all the procedures completed. I ended paying $681 to the dentist, and the insurance paid their portion amount. The dentist started to ask for more money, he wants an extra of $821, I told him we had a Verbal Agreement, but he's denying that.
What can I do, ant help will be appreciated. Thanks.

If a collection agency gets involved you could be looking at problems.
If you're real, real clear that you're "in the right" start documenting everything and document as accurately as possible all that you remember that has transpired up to this point.
Then you'll be ready for small claims court if there's no other way to resolve it.

Most verbal agreements have a limit of 500 dollars, NY state has it set at 50 dollars, anything above that limit you need it in writing.
For more information you should read the Statute of Frauds, this deals with oral contract.
To be more exact you should read Section 201 of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC). This section states that all sale of goods or service above 500 dollars must be in writing to be enforceable, but most state even go beyond and lower it to 100 dollars or 50 dollars.

They said $600 - you paid $681 - do they want another $821 or are they wanting another $140?

Anyway, you should have the paperwork from insurance on what they charged and what was paid.
Also call your insurance company, it could be that what you pay out of pocket is less.

My daughter had her tonsils taken out a few months ago, I got a bill, the check was supposedly cut but not sent. I was told the most they could charge me was under $100 even if it didn't get paid due to the contract they have with her insurance.

If the zip code in the profile is correct, they are in NY.

Well it doesn't really matter, if NY or not, is above the 500 dollars.
To be enforceable, it had to be in writing.
