My family is moving to the Denver area. I need advice as to good areas to live - near good schools (public or private), good swim teams and good dance schools (11 yr old dancer and 13 yr old swimmer, both at fairly high levels). Have done a little research and it looks like areas south and southeast of the city may be good? As far as swim teams - maybe Hilltoppers, ACES, DSA or Stars? Help appreciated!

I think the best swimmers in terms of high school would be Regis, Cherry Creek, and more recently Highlands Ranch. There are many good local leagues and athletic clubs within the boundary of these schools.

These three would definitely be the best HS programs in the state.

Regis has won the Boys title for the last 15+ years until this year when HR won. Cherry Creek typically is second. Highlands Ranch is a co-op team that draws swimmers from about 4-5 different high schools in the Highlands Ranch area.

Cherry Creek has the best girls team right now. They have won the last 5 or 6 state titles (25 overall). Regis is second.

Important to know: Cherry Creek and Highlands Ranch are public schools. Regis is a Catholic (Jesuit) school. Tuition at Regis is about $10k per year.

Of the three, Cherry Creek probably has the most rigorous academics, but all three are excellent.

The swim teams and the homes in the areas around these schools are excellent. I have no knowledge about dance schools.
